Contributing Writer: Julia Darby


Julia Darby (she/her) has been a Contributing Writer for Community Commons since 2022, sharing her expertise in mental and behavioral health, disease prevention and response, and health communications. Julia is most passionate about advocating for behavioral health, reproductive rights, health equity, and justice for communities impacted by health disparities.


Julia earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Tulane University. Currently, Julia is the Patient Services Ambassador for New York Presbyterian Hospital. Previously, she served as a Curation Intern for the Institute of People, Place and Possibility (IP3, steward of Community Commons) and an Alliance for Disease Prevention and Response Intern for the American Public Health Association (APHA), where she collaborated across multiple data and communications teams to help develop PHERN—the Public Health and Equity Resource Navigator.


Julia resides in New York, where she enjoys running, spending time with family and friends, seeing live music, and exploring new restaurants.
