This journal article explore the need for a Wellbeing-Adjusted Life Year (WALY) measure, an alternative to the Quality-Adjusted Life Year (QALY) which is a measure that combines life extension and health improvement in a single score. WALY potentially offers a way for evaluating the relative effectiveness of interventions on mental wellbeing, something that the results of this study suggests that QALY is unable to do adequately.
