Contributing Writer: Eunice Mustapha


Eunice is a passionate and dynamic Public Health Lawyer and Storyteller who works on the strategic utilization of laws and policies as tools for strengthening health systems and advancing health equity in communities. She has specialized knowledge in both national and global health law. Her work in community health includes using applied research and translation to provide evidence for developing new policies, programs, or practices and amending existing ones. Over the years, she has been creating, supporting, and implementing community-centered initiatives focused on bridging the unmet needs for equitable access to healthcare services.

Born and raised in Africa, throughout her 8+ years storytelling career, she has centered lived experiences in social activism activities. Eunice has always eagerly pursued opportunities merging community health and storytelling. Her journey in the storytelling space has included visiting rural communities or villages to listen to stories. With extensive experience in program development, policy advocacy, and strategic communications within the public health sector, she specializes in leading dynamic teams and spearheading innovative advocacy campaigns to enhance engagement and amplify voices. In reaching diverse audiences, she has hosted multidisciplinary and intergenerational safe spaces in communities and has managed contracts engaging creative influencers including bloggers, musicians, models, comedians etc.

Eunice holds an LL.B. Hons., a Degree of Utter Barrister, a Certificate in International Human Rights Law, and a Master of Laws in National and Global Health Law with distinction. She is an alumna of Fourah Bay College, the University of Sierra Leone, Sierra Leone Law School, and Georgetown University. Her love for storytelling and community health has led to her winning impact-making awards, including National Child Development and the 50 Most Influential Sierra Leonean Women awards. Eunice is fluent in Krio and understands Mende. She also enjoys dancing, cooking, planning social events and being present in the lives of her loved ones. This is her first involvement with the Community Commons platform as a contributing writer.
